While there are many challenges for Information Governance involved in Brexit, avoiding General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) isn’t one of them. This article is a concise read that lays out the carrot and the stick for why organizations should be working toward compliance with GDPR.

While organizations may be dubious of any potential business intelligence benefits coming from anonymizing client information, there is no denying that the penalties for not doing so can be devastating. Another important point is that any organization involved in the data transmission chain is regulated by GDPR.  GDPR becomes effective next year and, as one would expect, large organizations are well on the way to meeting their obligations. Smaller organizations that handle client data need to become aware of GDPR and start working to compliance now or their future will be very bleak.
